Love Your Self Talk
Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, feelings of guilt and shame or low self-esteem? Are you critical of yourself and others?
Our self talk and thoughts create our life experience. If you are allowing voices of the past or fears about the future to stifle your day to day happiness; I invite you to join me on Saturday, April 21 to learn an effective tool to change your thoughts and self talk and create more joy and peace in your life.
Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that treats problems and boosts happiness by modifying dysfunctional emotions, behaviors, and thoughts.
Research has proven that when we identify our distorted thoughts and beliefs, we can then change our thoughts, thus influencing positive feelings.
Wellness Wednesday Tip:
- Listen, Listen, listen!
Become aware of your self talk and immediately identify if you are using words like should, must, never and always. If you are that is an indication that your thoughts are distorted and see what happens when you drop those words from your vocabulary. Notice if it lessens the intensity of your feelings.
- Practicing mindfulness increases awareness.
When you drive somewhere and you arrive at your destination before you get out of your car, stop and take three relaxing breath to create a sense of mindfulness. Become aware of your breath throughout the day especially as you experience different emotions.
